New Orleans Police are working to determine who gunned down two women in Treme and why.
"The NOPD is investigating a double homicide that occurred today (May 12, 2023) in the 1000 block of North Claiborne Avenue," according to a news release.
It happened at North Claiborne Avenue and Dumaine Street.
"At around 1:31 a.m., NOPD First District officers were notified of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult females suffering with multiple gunshot wounds."
Cops say EMS transported both victims to the hospital.
"They succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased."
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims.
