A body has been recovered from the Mississippi River near Reserve Louisiana Tuesday afternoon.
As the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports, St. John the Baptist Sheriff Mike Tregre confirmed the body was found near milepost 137.
The sheriff’s office has not yet identified the body but an autopsy will be done. The newspaper reports that a crewmember on a tugboat found the body in the river and called the sheriff’s office about 9:18 a.m.
The discovery of the unidentified body comes as authorities continue to search for missing 18-year-old LSU student Kori Gauthier. Her car was found abandoned on the Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge last week.
