A leadership change is underway at the University of New Orleans, just a few weeks before it leaves the University of Louisiana System to rejoin the LSU System.
President Cathy Johnson announced on Friday that she is leaving UNO effective July 13 to become the executive vice president and provost at Saint Louis University. Johnson will remain as UNO's president through June 30, the university's final day in the UL System.
Effective July 1, Jeannette Weiland will serve as the interim chancellor and chief administrative officer of the newly-branded LSU New Orleans. Weiland, an alumnus of UNO, currently serves as the university's interim CAO.
