UPDATE:

More details about the body of a mariner from Seacor Power liftboat found miles from the accident scene has surfaced.


According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate, the sailor is identified as 69-year-old Ernest Williams of Arnaudville, Louisiana, a community of approximately 1,300 straddling St. Landry and St. Martin Parishes.

The exact cause of Williams death is still unknown to the Lafourche Parish Coroner.

Williams body was found miles away from the accident scene out in the Gulf off shore of Cocodrie.

Published reports from the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate say a second crew member from the capsized Seacor Power has been found in the Gulf of Mexico.

The report states the still unidentified body was found some 33 miles from the wreck site.

It is not known if the person was one who fell from the boat while a Coast Guard helicopter hovered above lowering down radios and life jackets.

The body was taken to the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s office for identification and determination of cause of death.
