UPDATE: 12:54P.M. Less than eight hours after the recent killing of a man in Algiers was recorded, NOPD is on the scene of another apparent homicide.
Report of the second homicide came in just after 12-noon.
The location is on Westbend Parkway just a scant few blocks from the earlier homicide on Herschel and Anson.
No other information on this latest homicide is available.
Initial Homicide:
Investigators with the New Orleans Police Department Homicide Unit are working a case in Algiers.
An early morning homicide left one person dead.
The call came in around 4am with Fourth District officers responding to a scene near the intersection of Herschel and Anson Streets.
A call of an aggravated battery by shooting brought officers, upon arrival, officers located a male down near a residence a short distance from the scene of the crime.
The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.
