A New Orleans restaurant and police are searching for the man who stole the business’s resident cat from its front porch.
The catnapping happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Camellia Grill on South Carrollton Avenue. According to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, the suspect passed by the restaurant around 8 p.m.
Monday and petted the feline, named Queenie. Surveillance video shows the suspect coming back a few hours later and picking Queenie up before leaving the scene with her in a pickup truck. Another post on the page says restaurant managers don’t believe the suspect was a customer at the venue that night.
“Our friendly Camellia Grill cat was taken last night from our restaurant porch,” the restaurant’s initial Facebook post about the animal theft said. “If you recognize this person captured by our security cameras let us know. Video surveillance shows the person in the blue shirt taking our cat and driving away in a pickup truck. Please message us or call the restaurant if you have any information.”
