The New Orleans Police Department is asking for help finding two men who stole $300,000 worth of steel beams from the construction site of the Five O Fore golf entertainment complex.
On Saturday, two individuals were seen entering the site at 3800 Howard Ave. and using a semi truck and white Dodge Ram pickup to haul away the beams.
The suspects used heavy machinery to load the beams on to the flatbed, then drove away.
The site was where the Times-Picayune building used to stand, before it was demolished to make room for a Drive Shack golf entertainment complex. Funding for Drive Shack fell through, and late last year the property was sold to a new business that was going to develop a similar golf entertainment complex under the name Five O Fore.
