The New Orleans Police Department released surveillance video of a motorist fighting off a would-be carjacker.
It happened about 7:35 a.m. Saturday as the motorist was about to pump gas at a gas station in the 7200 block of Hayne Boulevard.
The video shows one suspect crouch down and creep up on the motorist and jumped into the driver seat. That is when the motorist struggles with the thief and pulls the suspect out of vehicle. The suspect lost a shoe in the struggle.
A second suspect then shows up and points gun at the motorist who then throws the shoe at the gunman. Both suspects then flee in a grey sedan. No one was injured in the altercation.
