Video: United Cajun Navy uses seaplanes to continue search for missing crew members

The United Cajun Navy is taking to the skies to continue searching the water for the seven missing crew members of the Seacor Power lift boat.

The volunteer search and rescue group is using four donated sea planes and operating on donations to pay for the planes’ fuel.

Scott Daspit is the father of missing crew member Dylan Daspit. He says the off-shore community of rig workers and shrimpers have provided the United Cajun Navy with information to help in their search.

“Operators working nearby telling us the currents…we just found some debris southwest of the accident,” said Daspit. “The Coast Guard has being going west and northwest. So we jumping in these planes today and going to the Timbalier Island, there is a lot of abandoned platforms.”

Six people were rescued by Coast Guard and Good Samaritan vessels in the initial response to the boat capsize. Six bodies have been recovered and seven are still missing.
