A mass shooting in the Lower 9th Ward takes the life of a 43-year old man and leaves another man and two women wounded.

Fifth District officers responded around to a report of gunfire and found the victims upon arrival, around midnight, at a gas station on the corner of St. Claude and Lizardi Street.
EMS pronounced the 43-year-old man dead on scene. A 29-year old female arrived at the hospital on her own, the 50-year-old woman and the 59-year-old man were transported via EMS to be treated for their injuries.
Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible and a motive.
