A mass shooting in Central City leaves three people injured and one person dead.

It is the latest fatal shooting incident to happen in New Orleans over the past two days.

The New Orleans Police Department reported this recent shooting shortly after 8 pm Thursday night.

According to police, the shooting happened near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Robertson Street.

Details on the shooting are still unclear as the investigation is ongoing, however, say four people were shot in the incident. One of the victims died at the hospital.

A short time later the NOPD reported another shooting incident, this time in the Gentilly area at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Verbena Street.

“At around 9:48 p.m., Third District officers responded to a call of aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene,” said the NOPD report.

This is the second fatal shooting in New Orleans within 48 hours.

On Wednesday morning, four people of a youth group were shot in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of General Taylor and Annunciation Streets. Two of the four victims died.

The NOPD says the investigations in all these shooting events are under investigation.
