The 8500 block of I-10 Service Road, between Crowder and Read Boulevards, is turning out to be a dangerous place for people.
The latest crime is a shooting which left a man dead.
New Orleans Police arrived around 6am this morning to find the victim’s body lying in the grass with a fatal gunshot wound.
Just a day before a driver was attacked by unknown assailants driving two vans. Both men in the other vans opened fire on him.
The driver retrieved his own weapon and was able to drive off the attackers once they saw he was armed.
WWL-TV reports another driver in the area also came under a barrage of gunfire as well.
NOPD reportedly says this area is a hotspot for crime violence.
In January a 34-year-old mother, Whitney Watts, was shot and killed in her car while her daughter was in the back seat.
Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify those involved, as well as a motive.
