Violent night in New Orleans

Cops say bullets hit five people in New Orleans in about seven hours Wednesday. Three of them died.

Love ones say a 16-year-old girl was one of two people shot at a Gentilly Walgreens.  She died on the scene. The victims were found in the parking lot.  Gunfire shattered store windows.  A male victim died at the hospital.

That happened around 4:30pm.

Less than two hours later, a man showed up at the ER.

"Initial reports show that at about 6:21 p.m., a male gunshot wound victim arrived via private conveyance to a local hospital," NOPD Senior Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said in an email.

He said it happened in the Iberville neighborhood.

"The location of occurrence for this incident has been determined to be the 200 block of Treme Street."

Then at about 9:15pm, officers received a call of shots fired in New Orleans East.

"Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female on scene with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased on scene," Looney said.

That was in the 7000 block of Lawrence Road.

Just after 11:30pm, the bullets were flying on Airline Highway in New Orleans near the Jefferson Parish line.

"The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 9300 block of Airline Highway. Initial reports show a male gunshot wound victim."

There was no initial word on any suspects in any of the shootings.
