New Orleans Police say there were four shooting incidents in less than four hours that left one person dead and five wounded.

They happened between 8:51pm and 12:07am Tuesday into Wednesday.

"The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 7200 block of Chef Menteur Highway," Spokeswoman Karen Boudrie reported in the first shooting. "An adult male suffered a gunshot wound to the hand."

That happened just before 9:00pm.

About two and an half hours later, another man was shot and killed.

"The NOPD is investigating a homicide in the 2400 Block of Eads Street. Initial reports show an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound was pronounced dead at the scene. The call came out at 11:17pm."

Less than an hour later, two more people were shot.

"The NOPD is investigating a shooting at South Claiborne and Second Street," according to Boudrie. "An unidentified person was shot at least once to their body. A second person has been reported shot at this location."

That call came out at midnight.

"Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment."

Just minutes after that, two more shooting victims showed up at the ER.

"The NOPD is investigating a shooting that reportedly occurred somewhere on Morrison Road... Initial reports show 2 black males arrived to a local hospital by private conveyance."

Boudrie says one victim was shot in the forearm, the second suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.

"The call came in at 12:07 am."

There is no word on any conditions of the surviving victims, nor any information on any suspects.
