The vast majority of eligible voters are not expected to cast ballots in Saturday's election.

Veteran Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says voters are just not interested.

"When you talk about 12% of the people voting, that means they have just checked out. There just is no interest. I mean, how can you say anything otherwise?"

He calls it embarrassing.

"The public's turned on the snooze button... People have lost interest in government."

Pinsonat blames, in part, ugly advertising.

"And this round are over the top, mean-spirited," he bemoaned. "If there's a large number of people that have been turned off by these ads, I wouldn't be surprised."

We asked listeners why they don't vote.

"People don't vote because politics turn them off," one person texted.

Another said, "I don't want to vote for any of the candidates, so I will not go vote."

"People are just fed up with corrupt politicians," someone else shared.
