Watch: Drew Brees, Gayle Benson honor Mr. Benson

On his first day of retirement, former New Orleans Saints Quarterback, Drew Brees and his wife Brittney met with Ms. Gayle Benson at Mr. Tom Benson’s gravesite to remember and honor the man that started Brees on his 15-year career with the Saints.

Today also marks three years since Mr. Benson passed away.

"The thing I appreciate so much is it was grandfatherly advice," Brees said. "There was like 'don't spend all your money. Live within your means. Do the right thing. Give back to the community.' "
