New Orleans Police are warning the public to take extra precautions when pumping gas.
NOPD report at least two armed robberies and one aggravated assault took place at filling stations on Crowder Blvd, Bullard Avenue and near the intersection of Morrison and Lamb Roads.
The cases all have the same m.o. with suspect described as a black man wearing all black clothing and carrying a firearm.
“Citizens encountering a similar situation are urged to not take action on their own,” the police department said. “They should back away, get to a safe location, and call 911 to report the incident to NOPD.”
A twitter feed from the department warns people not to leave their car keys in their vehicles at any time, as well.
