Sunday's rainy weather is forcing yet another change of Carnival plans for a major event in the New Orleans metro area.
Jefferson Parish officials say they are moving Family Gras indoors. According to an alert sent out Sunday morning, Family Gras will be held inside the Pontchartrain Center because of the inclement weather. Doors to the event will open at 2 p. m.
The event will remain free and open to the public. Officials say holders of Royal Passes will be admitted to VIP viewing areas, while all other guests "will enter the concert on a first-come, first-served basis." The music will begin at 3 p.m. when Amanda Shaw takes the stage. She'll be followed by country singer Gabby Barrett at 4 p.m. and Rascal Flatts front man Gary LeVox at 5:45 p.m.
