It’s going to be a busy day for the weather.

This morning, after the fog burns off, will be mostly quiet, but that is the calm before the storms that will arrive by this afternoon.

While there is a threat for severe thunderstorms today, not everyone will be under a rain cloud.

A few storms will likely develop in the area this afternoon and those will be the main things we watch. The highest threat for damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and heavy rain is north of the lake and into Mississippi, but even on the south shore, we should stay weather aware today just in case.

By this evening a second round of thunderstorms will roll in to the region along with a cold front.

It will likely come in during the evening and early morning hours Wednesday.

This time the severe weather threat is low, but still something to keep an eye on.  Look for some areas to get at least 3-5 inches of rain during this later round.
