An hour before a bride and groom were to take their vows a Harvey man and woman allegedly barged into their Harvey motel room and robbed the couple and their wedding party at gunpoint.

As the Times-Picayune | The Advocate reports, 20-year-old Jerrold Jackson and 18-year-old Alicia Sturdivant are accused of robbing the couple and stealing the groom’s car to be used as a getaway vehicle for them and two other unidentified accomplices.

The sheriff’s office says the robbery happened at around 3 pm on December 12. The 21-year-old groom from Gulfport, Mississippi, and his wedding party were staying at the Home2 Suites in the 1700 block of 11th Street as they prepared for their wedding at a relative’s home in Harvey.

Authorities say, Jackson, Sturdivant, and two others entered the motel room and robbed the groom, his brother, and two friends of their belongings.

Jackson was arrested the next day after leading deputies on a car chase through Metairie in the groom’s stolen Honda Civic.

Sturdivant was arrested on January 4. Both Jackson and Sturdivant were arrested and booked with four counts each of armed robbery and one count of auto theft. Their arraignment is scheduled for March 10.
