Officials in Jefferson Parish today announced that the water is safe to drink after a drop in pressure in part of the parish.
"In conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, the Jefferson Parish Water Department is lifting the Boil Water Advisory on March 2, 2023 for the areas of Crown Point, Town of Jean Lafitte, Lower Lafitte, and Barataria on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish," Public Information Officer Gretchen Hirt Gendron said in a news release.
She explained that analysis of the samples collected March 1, 2023 came back from the lab showing no dangerous levels of any contaminants.
"Customers in the affected area may now use the water without boiling or disinfecting. No more precautionary actions are necessary."
