There has been a great amount of recent growth on the business front in Jefferson Parish. NOLA Motorsports Park has been a notable addition to the area, bringing go-kart racing, paintball, and much more to kids and adults alike. Now, the expansion continues with the addition of a new multi-purpose sports complex to the parish.

Jefferson Parish President Cythia Lee Sheng says she’s excited about the new sports complex breaking ground and thinks it will be an important part of the landscape moving forward.

The “Churchill area” as it’s known will now be home to TPC golf club, The Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy, as well as NOLA Motorsports Park. Sheng sees this development being not only crucial for Jefferson Parish and the residents around these facilities, but to the New Orleans region as a whole. “There is plenty of beautiful, raw land out there. People will say, ‘Oh, this new field is going to reinvigorate the economy on the Westbank, but I would say it’s going to be incredible for our whole region. That’s how important this project is to Jefferson Parish,” noted the Jefferson Parish President.

The Jefferson Parish President also believes there’s plenty of room for more growth, some of which may transform the area for decades to come. “This public investment in sports tourism allows us to be a player in our own economy and we’re already booked out. We have bookings out until 2028, so we’re solidly booked for the next couple of years. All of us are really excited about it,” Sheng emphasized.
