When could New Orleans host its next Super Bowl?

Now that that's over, when will New Orleans host its next Super Bowl?

"We've certainly already been laying the foundation for that," said New Orleans & Company CEO Walt Leger III.

Leger told WWL's Newell Normand and Dave Cohen that it all starts with the Saints and team owner Gayle Benson.

"They've got to kind of push that we're interested, and we start talking about dates and looking at dates," Leger explained.

The next three Super Bowls are spoken for, and the Super Bowl in 2029 will likely fall on the Sunday before Mardi Gras.

"Every year does not work for us," Leger pointed out. But there are other NFL opportunities he would like to explore.

"The draft, to me, would be spectacular here," Leger said. "So think about it here: it's right around Jazz Fest. Jazz Fest is a major event for us, but we're about 70, 75 percent occupancy at that time. If you could put the draft on top of jazz Fest, then you basically create the Super Bowl."
