Fourth of July in New Orleans means the Go 4th on the River celebration!

A tradition for more than 30 years, Go 4th on the River features dueling fireworks displays from barges on the Mississippi, meaning great views from east AND west banks.

"Fireworks are at 9 p.m. on the river. You can see it from both sides of the river starting from Hilton Riverside to Crescent Park," said Debbie Bresler with Go 4th.

Bresler recommends coming early -- it's not like you cannot find something to do downtown until the fireworks go off.

"Come down early," Bresler told WWL's Don Dubuc. "You can eat, drink, shop,go visit the recently reopened Audubon aquarium."

At 7 p.m., the Port of New Orleans fireboat General Roy S. Kelly shows off it's red white & blue water display.

If you happen to be in bayou country tonight, Houma will have fireworks at the Good Earth 4th of July Festival at Bayou Country Sports Park. The pyrotechnics begins after dark.
