New Orleans Police say a juvenile was shot and killed in New Orleans East.
Witnesses says it happened while the child was robbing Sam's Meat Market along the I-10 Service Road near Crowder Blvd.
It happened around 7:00pm last night.
Early this morning, NOPD notified the media that the juvenile had died.
"This event is now considered a Homicide by shooting with an armed robbery by gun," Spokesman James Roberson said in an email.
He described the dead child as an "Hispanic juvenile."
Two suspects had reportedly entered the store and tried to rob the business.
Witnesses say the manager shot at them, hitting one of the alleged robbers.
