The Thibodaux Police Chief says on Friday morning a woman rushed into the police station lobby pleading for help and saying the man sitting in her car in the police station parking lot, attacked her, held her against her will, and used a weapon to force her to withdraw $800 in cash from her bank.

The victim told officers that the incident had just taken place and she drove directly to the Thibodaux Police Department following the incident with the suspect, later identified as Kendall Franklin, 25, still sitting in her car outside.

When officers approached her vehicle, they found Franklin had already fled on foot. Officers on the search found Franklin in the 400 block of Plantation Road.

Arresting officers found Franklin allegedly tossing away a gun. They also found the $800 on his person when he was apprehended.

The police chief says Franklin is charged with Armed Robbery with Use of a Firearm, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Battery of a Dating Partner with Strangulation.
