Cops are looking for clues after finding a woman's dead body in Metairie this morning.
"Around 6:15 am, deputies were dispatched to a report of an unconscious person on the ground near the intersection of Ivy St. and Little Farms Ave., " Detective Brandon Veal said in a news release. "Upon arrival, deputies located an unresponsive adult female on the side of the road."
He says the woman had been shot.
"The victim was pronounced dead on the scene."
It was not clear in police believe she was shot at that location about a block off Airline Drive, or if someone dumped her body there.
"The victim has not been identified at this time. There is no suspect or motive information available," Veal wrote. "Anyone with information is asked to call our Homicide Section at 504-364-5300 or contact Crimestoppers."
