A woman was injured in a hit-and-run incident on the Armstrong New Orleans International Airport I-10 ramp over Loyola Drive Wednesday evening, Kenner Police said Thursday.
Police say the victim had pulled over to the shoulder and was outside her vehicle inspecting it when she was struck.
"While inspecting her vehicle, the victim was struck by a passing vehicle and suffered a significant head injury," said Lt. Mark McCormick with Kenner Police.
McCormick said other occupants of the victim's vehicle said they last saw the suspect's white sedan exiting airport property.
"Upon a traffic stop being conducted, the suspect, identified as Jay Gordon, 20, a New Orleans resident, was subsequently arrested," said McCormick.
Police said Gordon was booked for hit and run, no driver's license, no insurance, and two municipal attachments from surrounding agencies.
