Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette is calling on people to cooperate with police as they investigate the murder of a woman Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the victim was an innocent bystander, killed when shots were fired in the 1400 block of Main Street.
"We have had enough violence in Bogalusa, and I call on every citizen to cooperate with police while they investigate this horrible crime," Perrette said. "he devaluing of human life in the name of the drug trade and gang allegiances should never happen anywhere, and the people of our community are fed up."
WWL-TV reports the 50-year-old woman was having her hair done in her home when the bullet caught her in the head. Family members say someone drove up and fired several shots into the house.
