The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder that happened early Monday morning.
Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance about 5:10 am at a home in the 1300 block of Ames Boulevard.
Responding deputies found a woman inside with multiple lacerations according to JPSO spokesperson Captain Jason Rivarde. EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.
A suspect is in custody; however, investigators have not released the suspect’s identity.
The victim’s identity will be released after the family is notified and the coroner completes an autopsy.
