A woman is dead after an early-morning French Quarter shooting.
According to New Orleans Police Department officials, that shooting happened around 4:45 a.m. Sunday on St. Peter Street near Royal Street, two blocks from Jackson Square.
According to the NOPD's major offense log, the victim was shot while she was sitting in her car. Police say the victim was already dead when they arrived on scene.
The case remains under investigation.
