Woman stabs grandfather in face after he 'asks her to shower'

A Louisiana woman has been arrested after allegedly launching a violent attack against her own grandfather after a dispute over her hygiene.

Authorities say Keithville resident Carrington Elise Harris, 22, stabbed her grandfather in the face after a confrontation in which Harris’s grandparents “after they asked her to shower.”

The confrontation escalated when Harris began to cause property damage within the house and then cut power to the house, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. When Harris’s grandparents attempted to restrain her, she escaped to the kitchen, retrieved a knife and “stabbed her grandfather in the face.”

Harris then escaped into a nearby wooded area to hide from authorities.

Officers found her still in the woods hours later and took her into custody.

Harris’s grandfather, who was not identified by authorities, received treatmetnt at Willis-Knighton South and the Center for Women’s Health in Shreveport.

Harris is being held without bail at the Caddo County Correctional Center.
