The Republican Party of Louisiana has picked a new leader.

"After a regular meeting with the LAGOP Executive Board, the Republican Party of Louisiana is proud to announce that Ms. Brittney Reed has been chosen as the new LAGOP Executive Director," according to a news release.

The organization says that Reed is from Vermilion Parish and has been involved in Louisiana politics for six years.

The GOP says Reed has worked on numerous races and political projects and run successful campaigns.

"I'm honored and excited to have this opportunity to work with the party," Reed said, "We have a series of tasks ahead, but I am confident that with our team, the LAGOP will be able to grow our party, improve Louisiana, and Keep America Great."

Reed will hold the highest ranking staff position within the LAGOP.

Responsibilities include day to day management of state party affairs, creating and implementing strategic plans, budget planning, and serving as a liaison between the LAGOP and local, state, and federal elected officials and candidates.
