For the fourth time today, the NCAA Super Regional matchup between LSU and Kentucky is being pushed back because of the possibility of severe weather.
The game was initially scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch, but thunderstorms in and around the Baton Rouge area forced the NCAA to postpone the start of the game.
The NCAA later announced that the game would start just after 7 p.m. However, the game was delayed a second time--to just after 8 p.m.--despite the fact that skies over Alex Box Stadium were clear and no rain or lightning had impacted the Baton Rouge area since the initial postponement. Now, heavy rains are nearing Baton Rouge, putting the chances of Game 1 of the postseason series starting tonight in jeopardy.
Still, LSU will attempt to get the game under way tonight. The university says the new start time for the contest is 9:06 p.m.
The game, if it's played, will be broadcast on WWL-AM/FM, WWL.com, and the Audacy app.
