There will be no charges against LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers. Police say they caught him illegally carying a gun in the French Quarter during the Mardi Gras celebration.
His arrest was on of more than a dozen that was dismissed after District Attorney Jason Williams said that an assistant D.A. erroneously dropped gun charges against 14 people.
There were calls to reinstate the charges. WAFB now reports that while three of the refused cases are now being reinstated, Nabers is not in that number.
Williams previously released a statement saying, “Based upon the lack of a previous criminal background and the individual currently being enrolled in college, we did not proceed with the misdemeanor gun-carrying charge against him at this time in exchange for his immediate and voluntary forfeiture of the firearm."
Nabers has said that he learned his lesson.
