Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is under fire again, this time being accused of transphobia after calling California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner a “man in a dress” during a back-and-forth on Twitter.

Greene made a plea in a tweet to California Republicans. “Stop promoting this man in a dress & NEVER-Trumper. CA Patriots worked too hard & deserve better,” read part of the tweet.
For her part, Jenner wasn’t shy about responding, firing back, “Tough talk coming from someone who backed down to the woke mob and settled out of court with a Twitter troll. Now your money is being used to take guns away from law abiding Americans.”
Jenner was referencing a settlement that forced Greene to pay $10,000 in legal fees to MediasTouch, a PAC in Los Angeles that said they will donate the money towards gun-reform groups.
Greene’s tweet came just days after Jenner’s identity as a woman was attacked at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas over the weekend. An attendee heckled Jenner by dead-naming her in a video that was tweeted by the account Patriot Takes. Jenner transitioned in 2015.
Greene has been accused of transphobia before, and an opponent looking to defeat her in next year’s midterm election has already seized on the comments.
Democrat Holly McCormack tweeted Monday: “Transphobia is never acceptable, especially from a member of Congress. After I take your office next year, I’ll be using my platform to preach love and acceptance rather than hate and division.”
