Airlines offer travel waivers following New Orleans attack

Major airlines are offering travel waivers and added flexibility for passengers flying to, from, or through New Orleans after Wednesday's deadly attack in the city.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is allowing passengers to rebook or fly standby on the same route within 14 days of their original travel date without additional fees.

Fort Worth-based American Airlines has introduced similar flexibility and is adding a 172-seat flight from New Orleans to DFW International Airport on Thursday.

United Airlines is waiving change fees and fare differences for passengers rescheduling their flights, provided the new travel is completed before Jan. 6 in the same cabin and between the same cities.

Delta Airlines has also announced it will waive fare differences for flights rebooked by Jan. 6.
