If you are worried about price hikes affecting your Thanksgiving dinner this year, you may want to make your way down to the nearest ALDI, as the grocery chain is offering significant discounts on turkey day staples.
Since Wednesday, ALDI has been offering discounts of up to 30% on holiday food, including appetizers, desserts, sides, and beverages, as part of its Thanksgiving Price Rewind promotion.
The discounts are meant to bring the prices down to what they were in 2019 to help consumers fight the recent inflation.
Dave Rinaldo, the President of ALDI U.S., shared in a statement that the price reduction follows suit with how the discount retailer operates.
“Providing amazing products at the absolute lowest prices is what we’ve always done, and we know right now that’s more important than ever,” Rinaldo said.
BJ’s Wholesale Club is also following the efforts of ALDI in trying to offer relief to shoppers this holiday season by running a free turkey promotion for its members.
To get the turkey, shoppers need to have a digital account on BJS.com and spend $150 online or in-store to get a voucher for a free Butterball whole turkey while supplies last.
The move from grocery stores comes as food costs rose 11.2% in September compared to a year ago, and the food at home category, food purchased in grocery stores, rose 13%, according to the Consumer price index.
As inflation shows no signs of slowing before the holidays, ALDI says it will “continue to be the low-price leader in every community it serves.”
