“I don’t know exactly what happened, but my information is that the subject drowned,” Wascom said, according to The Advocate. “The paramedics got to him and performed CPR at about noon, and then they got the coroner.”

A spokesperson for the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the victim’s age and name was not available as of Saturday afternoon.

This death is the second recorded on the river since June, when Keith Hilliard – father of Louisiana State University pitcher Ma'Khail Hilliard – drowned while ‘Tiki Tubing’ the day before Father’s Day, said The Advocate.

Then, three weeks after Hilliard perished, rescue crews were called to the river when than 15 tubers were caught in dangerously high waters.

“The river is angry,” said Livingston Parish District 5 Fire Chief Joe Koczrowski, who advised caution while participating in recreation activities on the Amite. “I wouldn't want none of my family in that river.”
