Americans are showing growing displeasure with the job that President Joe Biden is doing in office, as his polling numbers for the last month are one point from his lowest-ever approval rating.
Ballotpedia's polling index takes the average of polls conducted over the last thirty days to find presidential approval ratings and the metric shows Americans are not happy with the job he is doing.
On Tuesday, Ballotpedia's index found that President Biden has a current approval rating of 41%, with 54% disapproving.
This number was one percentage point higher than his lowest-ever approval rating measured by the index, 40% on Feb. 18, 2022.
Biden received his highest approval rating of 55% last May, and since then, it has only gone down for the president. Pollers have cited concerns around COVID-19, inflation, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and other issues for why Americans are not happy with their commander in chief.
One poll conducted by ABC News and the Washington Post looked at Biden's handling of the economy, of which only 37% approve of while 58% disapprove, and the COVID-19 pandemic, which 44% approve and 50% disapprove.
While Biden's approval rating is still at rock bottom, Americans appear to be feeling better about Congress as its approval rating jumped to 20% from 17% where it was a month ago.
The polling numbers came before the president's first State of the Union address, which polls have shown a majority of Americans had a positive reach to, CNN reported.
A CNN poll conducted by SSRS found that 71% of those who watched Biden's speech reacted positively to it, and 41% reacted very positively.
However, only time and action will tell whether or not the president's approval ratings will rise following his speech and as he continues his second year in office.
