A Dallas restaurant is getting mixed up with another business with a similar name in Waxahachie, Texas, and it's causing some headaches for both of them.

The owner of Big Al's Smokehouse Barbecue, about a mile from Dallas Love Field, says they've been getting boycott threats apparently meant for Big Al’s Down the Hatch barbecue in Waxahachie which recently hosted a campaign event for Beto O'Rourke, the Democrat running for Governor.

Angry foes of O'Rourke are now calling for a boycott but many are apparently directing their actions against the wrong Big Al's.

Lauren Wiener who owns the Dallas Big Al's says it's a common name, there are restaurants named Big Al's in almost every big city. She released a video on facebook sharing her views on the situation.

Wiener says when the anger is misdirected at her place, it hurts her employees who depend on the income from their jobs.

But Wiener says she doesn't want anyone boycotting the Waxahachie Big Al's either. She'd prefer that people would redirect their energies to something positive like supporting charities in our own back yards.
