Fans of the iconic chicken fast food chain Chick-fil-A are sharing their displeasure with a recent change they made to one of their top items: the iconic waffle fries.
Chick-fil-A shared in a notice posted to its website last month that it was swapping out its ingredients for the fries, adding pea starch.
“We recently made a slight adjustment to our Waffle Potato Fries recipe, which offers the same great taste while also making our Waffle Potato Fries stay crispier, longer,” the company said on its website.
Now, fans of the establishment are sharing their displeasure, and they say it’s not just a one-off but multiple locations, meaning it’s got to be the new recipe.
“At first, I just thought I kept getting a bad batch. Then, I blamed it on the location being off, but when I visited another location with my mom, I asked her if she noticed that the fries were grainier than usual,” Daryl-Ann Denner, a self-proclaimed Chick-fil-A loyalist and founded of the clothing brand NUUDS, told Southern Living.
Denner claims that no matter how she orders, the fries are “dry, grainy, and have no flavor anymore.” She also shared with the outlet that her “kids won’t even eat them.”
Other fans are also letting Chick-fil-A hear it, taking to the chain’s social media pages to leave comments about the new fries.
“Your new fries are terrible. I can’t even eat them anymore, and they were my favorite thing. Please go back,” another complained.
Others pleaded with the chain to “Please bring back the old fries.”
