Authorities confirmed that they had received numerous reports regarding the clown's actions, Greenwich Time reported. The sightings have been linked to a bizarre stunt by a private education center to get students to its speech school.

Local media reported that the police were verifying the education center's involvement in the incidents.

The Singapore police had asked the public to avoid interacting with strangers and continue reporting suspicious activity to the police.

Some parents took to social media, sharing photos of the clowns that would make anyone's skin crawl. The images have since gone viral, with one clown seen staring at students while they wait for the bus.

The academy shared via its Facebook page that they were sorry and would stop immediately.

They said they were working to rectify the situation but that the clowns outside of schools did "not offer any form of monetary rewards for children to follow them" and "strictly do not take any children out of the vicinity," the Greenwich Times reported.
