A man accused of robbing four banks in the Phoenix area, better known as the "Razzmatazz Robber," was arrested on March 23, the FBI announced in a statement on March 25.

41-year-old Andres Murrietta was arrested by the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force last Wednesday after a robbery at the SunWest Credit Union in Mesa, Arizona.

The FBI said in the statement that Murrietta received his nickname because he drove "a vehicle that resembled the color of the Crayola crayon known as razzmatazz," a shade of pink.

He is facing charges in connection to four separate bank robberies dating back to November 2021.

Murrietta is accused of robbing the OneAZ Credit Union in Gilbert, AZ on Nov. 1, 2021, the First Bank in Chandler, AZ on Nov. 30, 2021, the AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union in Mesa on Dec. 28, 2021, and most recently, the SunWest Credit Union in Mesa on March 23.

The FBI said that Murrietta "would enter the bank, produce a robbery demand note and a paper bag for the money." They added that no one was hurt in any of the robberies.

He has been charged in a federal criminal complaint, which the FBI clarified is only an accusation, meaning Murrietta "is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty."

"The FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force would like to thank the Chandler, Mesa, and Gilbert police departments for their assistance as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona for its work on this case," the statement said.
