It’s an act that has people asking, “what kind of a person does that?”

A man is facing charges after he abandoned a dog at Pittsburgh International Airport on Friday morning.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. when an Allegheny County Police Officer found the dog unattended in a stroller outside the airport.

Using a microchip, officials learned the dog’s owner but were unable to reach him.

Police then learned an airline official told the owner his dog need to be placed in a crate to fly.

That’s when the man took the dog outside and abandoned the dog near the short-term parking lot and got on his flight.

The dog was turned over to the state dog warden.

A charge of animal abandonment is expected to be filed by the state dog warden.
