A school bus driver in Alabama is facing charges for allegedly driving under the influence with dozens of children on board.

Rhonda Barksdale is facing 40 counts of reckless endangerment, one for each child she was transporting, The Birmingham News reported.

Barksdale was arrested Friday morning while taking a busload of students to a school in Franklin County, after police received a call about the bus being driven erratically along a two-lane roadway.

Video posted to Facebook shows the bus swerving from shoulder to shoulder and running off the road.

Before deputies could get to the scene, a concerned motorist pulled in front of the bus to force it to stop. Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver told WAFF the motorist boarded the bus, thinking Barksdale was having a medical emergency -- but that apparently wasn't the case.

Deputies arrived and administered a field sobriety test, which police say Barksdale failed. She was arrested on the spot.

None of the children were injured.
