Gold, diamond encrusted, space bound, eco-friendly – the world of toilets is more diverse and more expensive than ever before.

“I did have an African prince and princess – real royalty here – and they each had… not only did they have their own wing of the home for their bedroom suites, so they had independent bedrooms and then independent closet suites and independent toilet suites,” said Charmaine Wynter, an interior designer and lifestyle influencer.

She joined “Something Offbeat” to discuss what makes some toilets so expensive and some of her favorite luxury bathroom designs.

Out team reached out to Wynterafter reading Money Inc's list of the most expensive toilets. In the top spot, coming in at just under $20 million, was the international space station toilet. There weren’t aren't any standard residential toilets that come close to that number, but consumers can easily spend more than five figures on a commode if they so choose.

Wynter explained that bathrooms are important, since they are where most of us start and end the day.

“Ensuring that the bathroom meets all those creature comforts and functions, it’s key to the enjoyability and livability of the interior of your home,” she said.
