A Maryland homeowner was left with a terrible surprise after returning from work to find five people dead inside his house. The police are calling the scene a quadruple murder-suicide.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office shared that they were called to the La Plata, Maryland, home on Friday evening. When they arrived, they found the homeowner at the front door and two women and three men dead inside. All of them were found with trauma to their bodies.
According to the sheriff’s office, an early investigation points to the suspect being 28-year-old Andre Sales.
It is believed that Sales entered the home of his ex-girlfriend, 21-year-old Sara Mann, shooting her along with her brother, 18-year-old Kai Mann; their mother, 48-year-old Sommaly Mann; and another man who was at the residence, 23-year-old Javon Watson, police shared.
Police shared that Sale, who resides at another residence, then turned the weapon on himself.
When police arrived, two younger children were unaccounted for, but they were later found safe and unharmed in a different residence.
Autopsies are scheduled for the deceased, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform them to confirm the exact cause of death for each of them, police shared.
The investigation into the murder-suicide is still ongoing as a motive has yet to be determined by the authorities. Investigators are currently working with forensic personnel to process evidence and interview family and friends.
