While many have anticipated former President Donald Trump making an appearance on the popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the Republican nominee recently shared why he hasn’t made an appearance.
Trump shared with podcast host Lex Fridman this week that Rogan has simply never asked Trump to sit down for an interview, nor has he asked himself to be on the podcast.
“I don’t think there was any tension. And I’ve always liked him, but I don’t know him,” Trump said. “I only see him when I walk into the arena with Dana [White] and I shake his hand. I see him there, and I think he’s good at what he does, but I don’t know about doing his podcast. I guess I’d do it, but I haven’t been asked, and I’m not asking them. I’m not asking anybody.”
Rogan is signed with Spotify as one of the top podcasters in the world thanks to his tens of millions of listeners. He often causes an uproar, having done so during the COVID-19 pandemic when he challenged health experts and their advice, as well as sharing his opinions on climate change and other hot topics.
However, he has often made his political stance known, endorsing Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in 2020 and backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. before the independent presidential candidate dropped out and endorsed Trump last month.
Trump called attention to this during his sitdown with Fridman, referring to Rogan as “sort of a liberal guy, I guess, from what I understand.”
“But he likes [Robert F.] Kennedy. This was before I found this out before Kennedy came in with us. He’s going to be great,” Trump said. “Bobby’s going to be great. But I like that he likes Kennedy.”
