Hurricane Ida claimed the life of a Louisiana man, according to The Advocate.
The man was killed in the midst of the storm when a tree fell on his home. The unidentified victim lived along LA 621 between Gonzales and Prairieville.
Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre told The Advocate that the death was Ida’s first in the parish. He said they’re unable to say when they can get the man’s body out of the wreckage as dangerous conditions associated with the Category 4 storm persist.
